Dhiraj Alloy & Stainless Steel is a premier producer of Bright Steel Bars. A Bright Steel Bar is an industrial raw material produced by one of the cold finishing processes. Cold finishing processes encompass Drawing, Centreless grinding, Centreless turning or a combination of these cold finishing processes. The name Bright Steel Bar comes from the fact that the finished product that comes out of the cold finishing process has a bright lustrous or glossy look. Additionally, as a result of the cold finishing process, the Bright Steel Bar has closely controlled dimensional accuracy and improved mechanical properties in regard to machinability, hardness, tensile strength and yield point.

The majority of the parts required in the Engineering Industry are finally finished by a machining process. As such the machinability of the raw material plays a vital role in the productivity of the manufacturer. Again high volume production requires the use of automation in the form of special purpose machines and single or multi spindle automats. Bright Steel Bars provide that unique blend of good machinability couple with reproducible dimensional requirements.
The yield and tensile strengths of carbon steel are improved by cold drawing. By comparison, the tensile strength of hot rolled bar is about 10% less and yield strength is around 40% less. This improvement is of great interest to the design engineer seeking a better strength to weight ratio or a reduction in costs by the elimination of alloy contents and heat treatment. The enhanced properties may also be useful in applications involving threads, notches, cut-outs among other design requirements that might affect strength adversely. Correspondingly, there are no deterrents to the heat treatment of the finished components.

The Bright Steel Bar therefore confers on the user all the benefits in a unique combination. The Bright Steel Bars therefore used in a wide-ranging variety of processes, including
high-speed machining, cold heading, upsetting, cold extrusion or cold forming, forging etc.
